Vellora is a high-contrast calligraphic serif typeface designed to merge classical elegance with contemporary clarity. Developed from hand-drawn sketches, it brings expressive curves, refined serifs, and balanced proportions to editorial design, branding, and display typography.
Solution
To address this gap, I designed a typeface that prioritizes expressive detail, functional clarity, and a balanced visual rhythm. Vellora blends hand-drawn calligraphic forms with precise digital refinement, creating a serif that feels both personal and highly usable. Its consistent contrast, thoughtful proportions, and elegant serifs ensure readability, while its sculpted curves add the warmth and personality missing from existing options—ultimately providing designers with a versatile, modern solution for meaningful visual communication.
